Speaking of mortgaging your kids’ future. As if student loans weren’t bad enough apparently the people in charge didn’t think they were making enough money off of the youth of America who are trying to get an education.

On Monday, simply by doing nothing, they allowed the interest rate on student loans to double, from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent. That might be permissible if they were busy with more important things, like inventing a cure for cancer that’s also a source of endless clean energy. But they’re not even working this week.

Doubled! What fucking gall these people have. Why on earth are we allowing people to get richer at our children’s expense? When will enough be enough? 75% of Americans are already living paycheck to paycheck. Will it stop when those people can’t even make it to the next paycheck? Doubtful. They’ll likely be scorned as being too lazy to succeed. Who cares if all of the cards are stacked against them.
