Just hours after Brian Holbrook’s 3-year-old son, who was wandering around his own house playing, being curious about everything as are all 3-year-olds, shot himself with a gun that was stored in a closet, on the floor, loaded, with a bullet in the chamber and the safety off, the Dad of the year took to Facebook to defend the 2nd amendment. This update was posted just hours after his son was pronounced dead.
Police say the gun is owned by family friend Joshua Michael Greenhill who had been living with the family.
Officers say 30-year-old Greenhill, who has a CPL, put the gun is its case and put it on the floor of his bedroom closet.
It was loaded and had a bullet in the chamber but not locked, according to investigators.
Greenhill was arrested and charged with Careless Dishcarge of a Firearm, a crime punishable by up to two years in prison. However, Police Chief David Uhl said additional charges were likely forthcoming. It seems as if they’re trying to wait an appropriate amount of time to charge the father with something as well, although that is just speculation.
