What is footer in WordPress?
Footer is generally the area that appears under the content part of your website. It is a common website design feature that is used by millions of websites.
The footer can also refer to the footer code area. While you are managing your website, third-party services like Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and others may ask you to add code to your website's footer.
This footer code is not visible on the screen, but is used to add snippets of code that are necessary for the website to function and function.
Many beginners often find it difficult to decide what to put in the footer of their WordPress website. This is a missed opportunity that can help improve your website.
However, let's look at a few things you can put in the footer of your WordPress site and how you can make it more useful.

1. Adding links to the footer of your WordPress site
The first thing you would notice is that most websites add links to their website's important pages in the footer. This usually includes links to your about, contact, team members, press, and other pages.

To add a bunch of links you need to go first Appearance »Menus Click the "Create New Menu" link.
Then enter a name for your menu and click the "Create Menu" button.
Then select the items you want to add to the menu in the left column and click the "Add to Menu" button.

After you've created the menu, we'll display it in the footer of your website. Just go to the Appearance »Widgets Page and add the navigation menu widget to your footer sidebar.
Next, select the footer menu you created earlier from the drop-down menu and click the Save button.
You can now visit your website and see the links in the footer widget area of your website.
2. Adding code in the WordPress footer
While managing your WordPress website, at some point you may need to add a snippet of code to the footer area of your WordPress website.
One way to add them is to edit your topic files directly and paste the code into the footer.php template. However, this is a bad approach as your code will go away if you change or update the theme.
The best way to add code to the WordPress footer is to use a plugin.

After activation you need to visit Settings »Insert headers and footers Page. From here you can paste your code snippet into the "Scripts in the footer" field.

4. Adding the copyright date in the WordPress footer
You may also want to add a copyright date in the WordPress footer. One way to do this is to simply paste the text into your theme settings.
Many top WordPress themes make it easy to add text to the footer area of your website. You can find the option under Appearance »Customize Page and look for Footer Settings in the left pane.

5. Remove Powered by Links from the footer in WordPress
Some free WordPress themes add a link back to the WordPress website or their own websites in the footer of your website.
You don't need to keep these links on your website. Since they are outbound links that will affect your website's SEO score if you have them on every page of your website.
Now, many WordPress themes make it super easy to remove these links. You can find the option in Appearance »Customize Page. Usually it's located under the footer options box.
However, some topics may choose to hardcode the links in the topic files without being able to manually remove them. In this case, you can edit the footer.php file in your design to remove these links.
6. How to add an Instagram feed in WordPress footer
If you're running a fashion blog or want to promote your Instagram content, your website footer might be a good place to display your latest Instagram photos.

10. Add a contact form in the WordPress footer
Your WordPress website footer doesn't have to be a dead end. Give your customers the opportunity to continue the conversation by filling out a contact form.

After activation, go to WPForms »Add new Page to create your contact form. Enter a name for your form and choose the Simple Contact Form template.

When you're done editing, click the Save button to publish your form and exit the form creator.
Next you have to visit Appearance »Widgets Page and add the WPForms widget to your footer area. Next, select the form you created earlier from the drop-down menu and click the Save button.
You can now visit your website and view the contact form in the footer of your website.
